Robert Johnson, and his romantic story of selling his soul to the devil in return for becoming the greatest guitar player in the world, was the reason I first got into the blues. Given my much more metal background, I have always felt that his songs have a much darker, deeper feeling that could work perfectly with heavily overdriven guitars, roaring Hammond organ, and powerful drums, so after all these years I have finally decided to pay my tributes and record my versions of a couple of his most sinister songs.
